Agent Substrate 201: Putting kagent to Work

Thursday November 19, 9am PT | 12pm ET

Agent Substrate gives AI agents an isolated, efficient place to execute. But getting agents running is only part of the problem. How do you define them, deploy them, manage their lifecycle, and connect everything together? That’s where kagent comes in.

In this hands-on technical session, we’re skipping the architecture slides and getting straight into the setup. We’ll show how kagent works with Agent Substrate, walk through installation and configuration, and demonstrate what it takes to get agents running.

We’ll cover:

  • Getting started: Installing and configuring kagent with Agent Substrate on Kubernetes.
  • Putting the pieces together: How kagent and Agent Substrate work together, and what each component handles.
  • Running agents: Defining, deploying, and executing agents using kagent.
  • Managing the lifecycle: How agent execution, isolation, and resource management work together.
  • Under the hood: Following an agent from definition to execution and seeing what’s actually happening in the environment.

By the end, you’ll understand how to go from Agent Substrate infrastructure to running and managing agents with kagent—and have a practical starting point for trying it yourself.
