Recap – KubeCon EU Virtual 2020

It was just a couple of months ago where KubeCon EU went 100% virtual! While this year’s conference experience is different the value of the conference with all the great talks, discussion, and learning is as strong as ever.  We at Solo.io were excited to have speakers at both ServiceMeshCon and KubeCon talking all about service mesh.

Following the conference, the CNCF released a transparency report for the first time ever with really interesting data about the event, including:

  • Over 18,000 Attendees
  • 72% are first time KubeCon attendees
  • 45% of attendees are from end user organizations with over 3,500 companies represented

The cloud-native community and ecosystem is growing and Kubernetes adoption is mainstream. With broader adoption of Kubernetes comes the need to modernize additional areas of the application infrastructure stack including security, storage, networking and more.  Envoy Proxy based application networking at the edge and service mesh is core to cloud-native application networking.

We’re here to help share our knowledge to educate and help design the right architecture for your applications.

Christian Posta gave a talk on multi-cluster and multi-mesh patterns at Service Mesh Con. With the dizzying array of service mesh providers available to choose from and application requirements like reliability, scalability, and more — what are the different deployment patterns and their respective trade offs?

Do you have a service mesh question? This panel led by leaders in service mesh was an open AMA session to answer all your service mesh questions.

We look forward to seeing you at KubeCon North America Virtual next month and online at any of our upcoming events. Reach out in slack for any questions about Envoy, service mesh, and microservices.
