Solo’s seed funding round, supporting its groundbreaking vision for the future of the cloud

We are super excited to announce the closing of Solo’s Seed funding round. Having raised $3.25 million, we are now ready to accelerate our journey and fully realize our vision for the future of the cloud.

We are extremely fortunate to be backed by amazing investors who share our excitement for this space. The round is led by Puneet Agarwal of early-stage investment firm True Ventures and joined by Warren Weiss of WestWave Capital and Semil Shah of Haystack. It is an honor and a great pleasure to have them on our team.

Solo aims to streamline the tech stack, bringing innovative cloud technologies to the enterprise. The company was founded by Idit Levine, who has been involved in developing innovative cloud technologies for more than 10 years. She is the leader of and a contributor to several open source projects and frequently speaks at events for the open source community.

Before founding Solo, Idit was CTO for the cloud management division of Dell EMC where she developed UniK, an open source platform for automating unikernels compilation and deployment, and project layer-x, an open source framework for cross-cluster scheduling.

While currently in stealth mode, Solo remains committed to the open source community. Solo recently released Squash, an open source platform for debugging microservices applications, demonstrating its dedication to advancing innovative cloud technologies.

The team at Solo includes engineers who previously worked for DynamicOps and VMware, in addition to Dell-EMC. They bring the unique expertise that power Solo’s innovative vision. Solo is now looking to expand its team, and is actively searching for brilliant system software engineers and UX engineers interested in working at the forefront of the technology.
