We are looking for a driven product manager to manage critical capabilities in our Gloo Mesh and enterprise Istio products. was founded in 2017 in Cambridge, MA and is backed by Redpoint Ventures, True Ventures, and Altimeter Capital.


About the Role

Gloo Mesh Enterprise is Solo’s industry-leading Service Mesh product. Gloo Mesh adds needed features such as multi-tenancy, multi-cluster observability, and effortless lifecycle management. We are looking for a technically-minded product manager to join our growing team and report directly to product leadership.

The product manager must have a background in one of the following or similar cloud native technologies: Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, Amazon EKS. A previous engineering background is preferred. Our ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the service mesh industry. At, there are no layers of abstraction between product management and our customers and community. The role provides regular and open interactions with Gloo Mesh and Istio users through Slack, Github, and customer calls. 

Job Description: 

  • Build and execute on a product roadmap for our API gateway products
  • Write enhancement requirements
  • Orchestrate technical enablement sessions for our field engineers
  • Meet with customers and help them meet their goals via enhancement delivery 
  • Perform research on the service mesh market
  • Grooming and prioritizing issue backlog
  • Work closely with engineering to map customer and market requirements to product delivery

Job Skills: 

  • Must have 5-10 years of product management or equivalent experience with infrastructure software or cloud services
  • At least 2 years of experience with one or more is required: Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, Amazon EKS, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Anthos
  • Ability to define roadmap based on customer and market requirements 
  • Strong written, slide building, and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in engineering, product marketing, field and executive team to negotiate quarterly product delivery goals
  • Ability to communicate tradeoffs, determine relative priority, and manage expectations. 
  • History of success working with large enterprise organizations 
  • Engineering or similar technical background is preferred embraces diversity and equal opportunity.
